If you have really soft water you can eliminate the extra Baking Soda. I like it just the way it is, smells clothes-line fresh. Also you can add a few drops of essential oil in the scent you choose if you want more fragrance. This makes the clothes so soft! (And no they do not smell of vinegar!) I have really hard water and do not have a problem with the products dissolving.
